Marvel Studios has announced the official title for the upcoming fifth installment in the Avengers franchise as Avengers: Doomsday. The film will see the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the iconic role of Iron Man.

Avengers: Doomsday will be a direct sequel to the highly successful Avengers: Avengers and will feature the titular superhero team facing off against their most formidable foe to date, the enigmatic and powerful Doctor Doom.

The film will mark the fortieth entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fourth film in Phase Six. It is scheduled for release in 2026.
