A dominate display gave Celtic a comfortable lead to take to Slovakia next week

Celtic produced a brilliant performance at Celtic Park to make light work of Slovan Bratislava and take a major step towards the Champions League group stage.

Goals from Liel Abada, Jota, Kyogo Furuhashi, David Turnbull, and Giorgos Giakoumakis gave Ange Postecoglou's side a commanding 5-1 lead heading into next week's second leg in Slovakia.

The home side dominated from the off and deservedly took the lead after just 12 minutes when Abada turned home from close range following Jota's excellent cross.

Jota doubled the lead just six minutes later with a stunning strike from 25 yards that flew into the top corner, before Kyogo made it 3-0 with a close-range finish after Abada's cross.

Celtic continued to dominate after the break and added a fourth through Turnbull, who fired home from outside the box following a good run from Jota.

Giakoumakis completed the scoring with a fine header from a Jota cross, before Slovan grabbed a consolation through Ivan Saponjic in the final minute.
